“The Last Song from Kabul” has been nominated for a 2024 News & Documentary Emmy. Produced by Paramount Pictures, the documentary tells the story of The Afghanistan National Institute of Music and the journey from Kabul to Portugal as the school fled Afghanistan after the Taliban returned to power. It presents the story of people forced into silence, forced to lose their musical voice, forced to abandon the soul of their heritage, and against all odds, keeping the music alive.
